Mit zwei 10 "Tieftönern verfügt der McIntosh XRT1K über eine stärkere und dynamischere Basswiedergabe als bei früheren Modellen. Das hochglänzende Gehäuse aus Plexiglas aus extrudiertem Aluminium ist extra tief, um eine Top-Portierung zu ermöglichen.
Ein neues Woofer-Casting erlaubt dem XRT1K ein ungewöhnlich schmales Profil für einen Lautsprecher mit 1.200 Watt Belastbarkeit und seine 8 Ohm Impedanz ist für Verstärker einfach.
